bSI, IFC and Autodesk investment in Open Standards
Since 2017, the buildingSMART International Infrastructure Room has worked to extend the Industry Foundation Class (IFC) Data Model to cover civil infrastructure assets with strong stakeholder support amongst owners, supply chain organisations and software solution providers. The final “IFC 4.3” extension was released in September 2021 for acceptance by the buildingSMART Board in readiness for adoption by industry.
