Optimizing the best railway route using AI and multicriteria analysis
The Nova Ferroeste project applies advanced technologies to optimize the alignment of a 1,300 km railway that connects one of Brazil’s largest grain-producing regions to the Port of Paranaguá, the country’s second-largest port. The route definition used a multicriteria approach with 35 variables grouped into five dimensions, analyzed through the Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) combined with artificial intelligence.
