In general, we need to implement a strategy that opens the opportunity to reuse data for future maintenance, but also for renewal projects.

This is our lifecycle of data that we are working towards.

The focus is more a virtual twin, than a digital twin.

Models and classification Banedanmark has a separate asset management system in SAP, that needs that we have a CCI classification of specific objects. SAP is our daily maintenance system on assets.

Implementing CCI classification and metadata is key to our environment and strategy to work

With a fixed SAP system, have we decided to divide and conquer. One asset management system for daily maintenance, and one for model and drawing assets.

Lifecycle of models in assets management

We are challenged by a drop of data doing handover, where things are delivered as drawings or lists.

We need to find the correct level between models and drawings, and how we can archive the correct data, of the design for future use.

We are currently looking at OpenBIM IFC solutions for storage of models, with the challenge not to store IFC files, but the data within, and to recreate models from this.
