About Me
Started at Autodesk in July of 2021
Prior to Autodesk I was an Autodesk Software Instructor/Consultant at
a Reseller for 25 years.
o Software I mainly trained: AutoCAD 2D/3D, AutoCAD Electrical, and
Inventor Professional.
o I did Implementation/technical support with Inventor and AutoCAD
Electrical, which did include creating company specific standards,
CAD Best Practices, and client in-house training materials.
Prior to being an Instructor/Consultant I worked with AutoCAD starting
at Version 2.62 to Release 12, became an Instructor with Release 13

Hatch Enhancements
The HATCH command now provides a convenient option to draw hatches without the need for pre-existing boundary geometry.
You now have the option to define the boundaries of your hatch after initiating the command, eliminating the need to rely solely on existing boundaries.
This ensures precise filling of the exact space you need.
Additionally, you can now use polylines to create hatches.

The Purge feature has been revised for easier drawing cleanup and organization.
Opens the redesigned Purge dialog box.
There is a Preview area.
You can purge zero-length geometry without purging empty text objects.
Check boxes in the Named Items Not Used panel provide a way to select purgeable items by category as well as individual items.

AutoCAD version: 2020
The Find Non-Purgeable Items button displays information specific to why the checked item cannot be purged, which will be helpful in many cases.
For objects that can't be purged, the new design provides enhanced information as shown below, including the number of objects on each layer and their impact on file size.

Count Command
You can now count instances of an object or blocks within a specified area.
Specify a rectangular or polygonal selection area, the entire model space, or select a boundary object as a count area. A valid boundary object must be a closed polyline that consists of line segments and does not intersect with itself.
The count area defined in the previous count session can also be used in the current count.
New Commands:
o COUNTAREA - Defines the area to count the instances of an object or block.
o COUNTAREACLOSE - Cancels the count selection area.
o SELECTCOUNT - Finds all objects within the current count that match the properties of the selected objects, and then adds them to the selection set.
AutoCAD version: 2023
The new CUTBASE command copies selected objects to the Clipboard, along with a specified base point, and removes them from the drawing.

AutoCAD version: 2023
Extend Vertex – A new grip option, Extend Vertex, adds a new vertex to your polyline
extending from the selected end grip.
• With the new Extend Vertex grip option, the vertex is always extended from the
selected end grip, no matter which direction the polyline was drawn.

Markup Import and Markup Assist use machine learning to identify markups and provide a way to view and insert drawing revisions with less manual effort.
Markups can be imported as a PDF, PNG, or JPG and are overlaid on top of your drawing in the Trace workspace.
Markups in the imported file are automatically identified as mtext, mleaders, and revision clouds.
Markup Assist lets you insert those identified markups into the drawing as geometry.

Markup Assist: It is used in combination with Markup Import.
Markup Assist automatically identifies markups as text and revision clouds.
o After importing a markup, turn on TRACEVIEW to activate the trace mode that lets you modify the drawing itself.
o Click an identified markup, then insert it as an mtext, mleader, or revcloud object.
o You can edit the text before inserting it or choose to copy the text to the clipboard.
