Developing our Digital Asset Vison
• 6 programmes coving a wide range of our assets.
• Building supply chain relationships.
• Energy level for change.
• Building an organisation to fit our priorities.
• Data driven airport, enabled by a digital ecosystem
• Next generation ready, interacting with information as we do socially
• Automated information delivery allowing us to focus on assuring completeness and quality
• Keep Innovating, being aware of legacy, but do let it block change.
• Just digitising a process is not enough, we need to re-think how we
get to our outcomes
• Reimagine how activities should be undertaken. A robust Information
Management approach is key to our change

WHY CHANGE
Time is wasted checking information is correct as its integrated into our systems
Loosing data intelligence by simplifying as we integrate into our systems.
Information exchanges are file based, transactional and can be unsecure. e.g. emails and third party systems. The lack of best practice information management leads to a lack of trust of information.
Colleagues in operations find it difficult to locate good quality and timely data due to end of life systems and outdated processes that are unresponsive to change.
Information silos on multiple disconnected systems creates delays in decision making and obstructs collaborative working.
Time and money is wasted resurveying information due to the mismanagement of information and lack of visibility.
Safety knowledge, trends and lesson learnt are not captured and lost in different systems

FINANCIAL VALUE TO DIGITALISATION AND INFORMATION MANAGEMENT
We recently took part in a study run by KPMG and Atkins into the Value of Information Management. A number of other clients contributed, and the final report was issues to the ‘Centre of Digital Built Britain’ who published. Click here for full report.
We used data from the Cargo Tunnel project to highlight how new information Management approaches created monetary benefits during early design.
For Heathrow benefits were identified from:
• Reduced project or programme delivery timetable
• Enabling Design for Manufacturing and Assembly
• Supply chain outperform the client’s original requirements
• Workforce health and safety including fire
• Constructability and coordination issue resolved virtually
For Heathrow, Use of IM across our capital delivery programme is
expected to unlock cost savings of some £7.40 for every £1
invested in IM.
IM Foundations are
key to enable Digital
transformation
